Indeed, the first three words of the Preamble of the Constitution were incredibly significant since they indicated the beginning of a new nation and new country. The emphasis on these first words accentuates that the government of the United States as a new country is its citizens. Therefore, it is the people who ordain and establish the Constitution. The ideas listed in the Preamble apply to Americans lives today for several reasons.

As it was stated in the Preamble, the Constitution was ordained to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity (Preamble, 2020). Of course, it is hard to say that the U.S is a perfect union. Nevertheless, it can be admitted that the United States has made huge progress since the day of its establishment. These improvements concern such aspects as the defense and general welfare, establishing the institute of justice, creating all the presuppositions for the liberty of the people of the U.S. Liberty and freedom have become even more relevant since the United States refuted the concept of slavery. Furthermore, the purpose of establishing the Constitution remains the same: the formation of a more perfect union that executes all the mentioned promises mentioned in the text. The exact phrase We are the people shows that all citizens are to be treated and protected equally. This aspiration was not attained in all spheres of the national functioning. However, it is still perceived as important and worth accomplishing.

As can be seen, the message of the Preamble to the Constitution is still relevant and important since it deals with such concepts as equality, liberty, and freedom. The Preamble emphasizes that the founders of the Constitution are the citizens of the country in question. This phrasing put the accent on establishing equality among all people of the United States. In addition to that the phrase we are the people announces the beginning of both a new country and nation.
