Abortion is an intervention intended to terminate a pregnancy and to take the life of the unborn child and is one of the most controversial issues in todays society. The Church believes that human life starts at conception, that is, when conception occurs, then a new human with unique DNA is created. During pregnancy, the baby then gradually develops, eventually becoming a human being. Therefore, the Church believes that the unborn child must be respected as a human being from the very beginning of its life, that is, conception, and that abortion is a serious moral evil.
Abortion rights promote irresponsible behavior. With abortion as a way out, many, especially young people, ignore taking responsibility for their actions. They may have unprotected sex with multiple partners. It encourages selfish behavior. Especially in young guys who push girls to have an abortion. For them, sex is amusement. In Sweden, approximately 35,000 abortions are performed annually, which equals 19 abortions per 1000 women. Abortion is used as a contraceptive, anti-abortion laws would reduce the number of abortions.
Each abortion is murdering a small person. Biologically, this is true. And every human being has value, regardless of the degree of dependence, how conscious one is, or whether one is desired. It is for the child’s right that we must tighten the abortion laws and introduce anti-abortion laws.
