For this assignment, you will first need to choose a business to write about throughout the following weeks of this course. Note: you may not invent a business, but chose a business that actually exists. Pick a place that is useful for you in some way, as you will continue to write about and around your chosen business for the rest of the semester: you will eventually write a process essay, a report, and three emails about this professional setting/company (you also have the choice to write your cover letter to this business). It might be someplace you work now, or someplace you would wish to work in the future.
This is an approximately 500 word document. Try to write concisely. Try to write (mostly) using the active voice, and use appropriate levels of formality and tone as you address me, your intended audience. Explain why this business is a good fit for you to write about in this class. Persuade me why it is a compelling choice, given your background and your future plans, and the specifics of your chosen business. Keep in mind that writing you generate in this class might be used as a writing sample for a prospective writing job in the future. Your proposal should be around 500 words: not much more, not much less.
