It is important to note that the story of Job in the Book of Job is a prime biblical reflection on the concept of suffering and the test of faith. In conclusion, the assumption was that Jobs devout worship of God was due to his prosperity rather than pure faith, which is why he was tested. It should be noted that good people can undergo suffering for seemingly no reason, and the world is not just because ultimate justice is reserved for the Day of Judgement. Therefore, one should focus on enduring the suffering and remaining faithful since the universe is not retributive, and God uses these moments to test a person.
