Charity Football Match

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. Today I will be presenting my event management plan for the upcoming Franz Beckenbauer Charity Football Match. Lets start with an introduction to charity football itself.

Football legends Pelé and Franz Beckenbauer came together to show their support for SOS Childrens Villages for the first time when they kicked off a friendly childrens match over the weekend. This event in Leipzig formed part of the 6 villages for 2006 charity campaign launched by world footballs governing body FIFA and SOS Childrens Villages.

Scope

So before we get into discussing the scope of the match, we need to plan the amount of audience that we want to invite. We need at least twenty thousand (20,000) people in attendance. This amount will help fill the stadium, and like they always say, the more, the merrier.

After identifying the audience, we need well-trained videography and photography since they have to cover an event on such a large scale. We will need the standard number of operators for cameras it requires to shoot an entire football match, i.e., 12 to 15.

A team of admin events and logistics will ensure smooth handling of all the match preparations. We can also ask people to volunteer for the cause, and they can usher the audience and help the event management team in their nitty-gritty. We will need the ground staff to prepare the pitch.

The main target of the match preparations is to get done with them two days before the event so that any missing element can be catered to efficiently. In this way, we shall prevent all haste and rush and make everything is managed smoothly. We need to have all this prepared and confirmed by 21st April, i.e., two days before the event.

Schedule and Planner

The schedule for the first half will be a little tight on time since we need to get most things done beforehand.

The second half of the week is all about the final touches to the event. Major tasks by the end of the week are focused on the 17th, 19th, and 21st. 21st would also be the zero-day, meaning that the entire event would be launched in a full dress rehearsal before pulling off the actual event.

Since Mr. Beckenbauer is a German national and Bayern Munich legend, and seeing as this is a charity event, the management at the Allianz Arena was kind enough to waive fees for booking the ground and even added a free security detail. We are truly grateful for their thoughtful gesture. The budget is mainly divided as presented on the slide.

Stakeholders

Now we have the stakeholders mentioned above because it is a charity football match, and it highly depends on how much people contribute to it.

  • The stakeholders are:

    • Fans (consumers).
    • Players (competitors).
    • Charities.
    • Allianz Arena management.
    • Staff.
    • Media (camera team).

Communication

That way, there will be no interference from any side, and the communication will be super smooth. The absence of external interferences will lead to successful communication, ultimately resulting in the events overall success.
