Steve Cahillane followed obstacle removal and employee empowerment, and visual communication steps. In the video, Cahillane emphasized the importance of visual communication to ensure that everyone was moving in the same direction. He also talked about how he focused on revitalizing the company by energizing the team and getting everyone on board with the vision. Steve Cahillane followed the communication Kotter model by creating a sense of urgency. By doing so, he was able to rally the troops and get them on board with his vision for the company. He then established a clear vision and communicated it effectively to all stakeholders.

And finally, he had to ensure that everyone was acting following that vision by constantly monitoring employees. Cahillane used communication to motivate his employees by appreciating their presence at work. He ensured all employees were connected and knew and understood the importance of their roles in the organization. Vision communication was also involved when the management reminded the employees of the standards they should be maintained following the kind of customers they serve (Galli, 2018). On the other hand, Cahillane removed obstacles by asking the employees what they wanted from the management to perform better. Conversely, he motivated employees by connecting with them and thanking them for their effort; this made employees feel involved and inspired to work harder.

The most important Kotter model step is communicating the vision. For a vision to be successfully implemented, it needs to be communicated effectively to all members of an organization. It is critical that people understand the vision and how it will impact them personally (Galli, 2018). A clear and concise vision provides a common goal for everyone in an organization and helps to motivate employees toward collective success. Additionally, when people are aligned with a common vision, they are more likely to innovate and take risks to achieve that vision. Therefore, communicating the vision is the most important step in the Kotter model because it lays the foundation for everything else that needs to happen, including other steps.
